How to Set Up a Flip Clock on Windows 10 and 11
No download or desktop gadget needed: a browser tab with the right skin fills the same role. Fullscreen, install, and pin — here is the whole setup.

The 30-second setup
- Open the clock in Edge or Chrome on the Windows machine.
- Pick a skin on the aesthetic page — Terminal or Classic Black reads well on office monitors.
- Press F for fullscreen. The browser interface fades after a few idle seconds and the flip clock fills the display.
That is all most people need. The two sections below make it permanent: install the page as an app and manage screen sleep.
Install it as a Windows app
Flip Clock AI is an installable web app, so instead of hunting for a taskbar gadget, give the page its own window:
- With the site open in Chrome or Edge, click the install icon in the address bar (or pick the install entry in the browser menu) and confirm.
- The clock now launches from its own icon in the Start menu, in a window without browser tabs.
- Right-click the taskbar icon while it runs and choose the pin option to keep it one click away.
Settings — skin, 12 or 24 hour format, digit size — stay saved in that browser profile, so the app comes back exactly as you left it.
Stop Windows from dimming the clock
While fullscreen is active, recent browsers request a screen wake lock automatically, which keeps the display on for the session without any toggle. Windows still draws its own conclusions sometimes, especially on battery, so it is worth checking the system side too: in Windows Settings, open the power options and set the screen off timer long while plugged in.
A locked or logged-out session will stop the display; keep sitting in session for a desk clock role. And a monitor shutting itself off via hardware settings beats any software request, so check the monitor itself for an eco timer if the screen goes dark on its own.
Second monitor placement
A spare monitor or old laptop is the natural home for a desk clock. Open the clock on the display you want, make that the active window, and press F — fullscreen grabs the screen the browser sits on, so the clock stays there while your main monitor keeps working. Snap layouts also let you park the clock as a right-hand half-screen window next to a dashboard, at a fixed digit size like S or M instead of auto fit.
Skin picks for Windows desks
Terminal and Mono give high contrast on busy office screens, Classic Black is the everyday default, and Midnight or Cherry add color without losing the dark-room mood. Preview each on the aesthetic page; the choice applies to the timer, stopwatch, and every other page on the site too.
